WHAT TO EXPECT

Our instructor will be there to guide students through more advanced wheel throwing, hand building, and glazing techniques. The instructor will also do demonstrations and advise students through more difficult projects that require more coaching. This class is designed to help further and refine your pottery skills.

What to expect:

Please review the below expectations so we are all operating from the same understanding and can maintain a shared space.

  • Please dedicate the first 15 minutes to set up and the last half hour to clean up. It’s important that with this communal activity, each person using open studio is responsible for their space.

  • We request that you limit yourself to producing two pieces per session that will be added to our firing schedule. We understand that you would like to most likely make more, but we want to make sure we are not taking space away from others. If you do make more, please understand we will only be able to get to two pieces at a time and additional pieces will have to wait later in our firing schedule.

  • You’re welcome to utilize our recycled clay or buy our own. Please do not bring your own clay as we want to ensure that any clay that goes into the kiln is the correct one and will not impact other pieces.

  • Please store any completed pieces on your personal shelf or class shelf. You’ll be responsible for tracking your own pieces and ensuring they get into the kiln. If you would like your own personal shelf, consider becoming a member.
