Portrait Painting with Bryce Billings

Class description
In this ongoing four week course students will be introduced to a multifaceted approach to painting the portrait from direct observation. Students will be painting from life with an in class model and from reference. Students will produce two portraits per month during the four week class. This is an academically minded program for those with serious focus on improving their representational skills.
Bryce Billings is an award winning local artist from Utah and one of Workshop SLC's Artist in Residence. With awards from the Springville Museum of Art, Portrait Society of America winning the William Draper Grand Prize in 2014 and Peoples Choice Award. His work is impressive to say the least and has a unique approach to his painting. Students will be challenged and improve their craft during this amazing four week course. Availability is limited as the instructor wants to keep his classes small and individualized.
