Class Description
Join Claire in a 4 week course and explore a loose, impressionistic way to paint fruit and flowers. In this casual atmosphere Claire will paint a class demonstration or 2, but she prefers her students to paint while she gives them feedback on how they can improve their work. Students are welcome to paint the still life provided or bring their own reference photos.
Supply List
Students should have their own oil paints, suggested colors are: Sap Green, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Umber, Ultramarine Blue, Naples Yellow, Titanium White, Titanium Buff, Portland Cool Grey, Cadmium Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red.
Medium (I prefer Galkyd Gel of Neo Megilp)
Panels or Canvas (6-8 sized between 8x10 and 11x14)
Palette, Brushes, Palette Knife
Apron, Gamsol to clean brushes, paper towels
The Instructor
Claire is an oil painter in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a soft impressionistic style, and her goal is to capture a mood rather than precision. She paints landscapes, birds, and still life florals. Claire has been showing and selling her work all around Utah for the past 7 years, and she has been studying oil paint for the past 16 years.
