Workshop Description
Learning from the old masters is one of the best ways to learn the classical art of portraiture. In this workshop students will work from printed copies of selected master works. Composition and lighting will be discussed to help students understand the difference between a classic portrait compared to modern “snapshots." Brendan will teach and demonstrate important principles of drawing, value, edges and color to bring portraits to life. The skills learned in this workshop will help students as they continue forward in painting their own original portraits in the future. This will be an exciting hands on workshop that will empower artists of all skill levels in their pursuit of mastery in portrait painting.
